John Wilson was a married man with two children who worked for Crompton-Parkinson prior to joining the army. He died in May 1943 after a short illness at Carlisle Hospital. His home was in Eves Crescent.

John was born around 1902, the son of George and Frances Wilson. He worked for the electrical engineers Crompton-Parkinson Ltd in Chelmsford prior to joining the army during the Second World War and serviing as Private, 7400009 in the Pioneer Corps.

On 16th May 1943 he died in hospital in Carlisle, Cumberland after a short illness. The 41 year-old father of a boy and girl was married to Susan Wilson who at the time was living at 32 Eves Crescent, Chelmsford.

He was buried at Chelmsford Borough  Cemetery (grave: 5688) on 25th May 1943, with the service conducted by Brigadier Simmoms of the Salvation Army.
